SYLVIA PEARL MORRISON

Sylvia Pearl Morrison passed away at home surrounded by friends and family on May 24, 2022. She was just shy of her 88 ^th birthday. Sylvia's life was well lived, and she was well loved. She has left a permanent mark etched on the hearts of family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Sylvia married Bob Morrison in 1953 and they were happy together for 58 years before Bob passed in 2011. They said the secret to their happiness was "after 18 residences in the first 20 years of marriage in five different states flexibility and patience are essential". Sylvia and Bob were originally from Stockton, California. They lived in Washington, Arizona, Utah, and Missouri before settling in Cupertino in 1973.

Family was very important to Sylvia, and she often shared stories about them to her friends.  Sylvia is survived by two daughters, Lynn Huggins and Lisa Connelly, son in law, Patrick Connelly, grandchildren Marlena Huggins, Julia Huggins, James Connelly and Christopher Connelly, great grandchildren Alexander Alcantara, Jurnee  Quinones , Jaycee Quinones, and Kaleesi Quinones. She is also survived by her chosen family Huy Du and Apple Do and their two daughters Haylie Du and Havana Du.

Sylvia was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of nineteen years old. This did not slow her down and she enjoyed life to the fullest. She is known for being positive and non-complaining, never grumbling about her health problems.  Sylvia was very social and loved getting together with her family and wide circle of friends. She started playing tennis in her 40's and continued until she was 80 years old. She loved playing bridge, Scrabble, and Mah Jongg. Bob and Sylvia hosted 25 international students during the 80's and 90's. They traveled to Germany, France, Switzerland, England, Italy, and Belgium to visit with them.

Sylvia worked for Hope Rehabilitation Services for over twenty years as an instructor. She then began working at DeAnza College Adaptive Physical Education Department and made many lifelong friends there.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for Kaiser Hospice Services and all of Sylvia's caregivers. Sylvia's last months were pain free and comfortable in her own home.

Sylvia was an active member of Los Altos Methodist Church for many decades. A Memorial Service will be held for her on July 9 at 11:00 am at this church.
