Tai Yan Tam, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away at age 100, on Thursday, August 19 ^, 2021.

Tai Yan was born in China, on Sept 20, 1920.  She immigrated to the United States in 1976 and after a couple of years with family in Houston, TX, she moved west to the San Francisco Bay Area where she remained the past 43 years.

Tai Yan enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  She loved to eat her favorite Chinese foods, do her daily chores.  She loved connecting with family and friends, to converse about current events and offer sage advice.  She was the matriarch of an extended family and was loved and respected by all.

Tai Yan is predeceased by her parents and husband U Man Tam (1985), and is survived by her daughter Shiu Ping (husband, Ming Fong), son Man Kit (wife, Ngan Ping), 15 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
