Obituary

Teresita " Tess" Lingat Catacutan was born in Quezon City, Philippines, to Ernesto and Zenaida Lingat on July 8, 1962. She was the third of 4 children - Daisy, Jhun, Tess and Catherine (who passed away in the late 90's). Tess was dearly loved by her husband, Don and their 3 children, Kristee, Kevin (who sadly passed last month) and Kurt. She has 4 grandchildren, Jake, Zack, Sean and newly born Kallie.

Tess grew up a successful businesswoman following her mother's footsteps in the money exchange industry. She was known by many of her close high school friends as "Tarat" (meaning quick-witted) for her charm, wittiness, and magnetic sense of humor. She was a natural storyteller who loved connecting with people and making others laugh.

All who knew her knew her for the eternal love she had for her family - selfless, caring, always putting her family first, and supporting her children for their passions. She was the "cool mom" known to many as "Mama Cat" who loved hanging out with her kids' friends and welcoming them into their home.

Tess was full of life and loved to have a good time. She had many passions, but above all, she was most passionate and proud of her children and grandchildren. She was an incredible person who was genuinely empathetic and showed kindness towards everyone. Her outlook in life was inspiring, and all close to her will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, and grace. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Thank you to all family and friends of Tess for your support and contributions during this difficult time. We will miss you Tess … till we meet again.

Tess peacefully passed on November 2, 2021. A celebration of life will be held for Teresita on Saturday, November 13, at the Alameda Family Funeral and Cremation Saratoga, California 95070. A Vimeo link will be provided for family and friends who cannot join the service in person.
