Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Theodore (Ted) Charles Anderson entered into rest June 1, 2016 surrounded by his family. For 81 years, Ted loved, built, served and above all, in all his endeavors, he "always tried to do his best."
Ted is survived by his wife Sara, his four sons and their spouses, as well as 16 grand and great-grandchildren.
Ted was a scientist, engineer, mathematician, builder, a traveler – and member of the million-mile club, having traversed the equivalent of the globe multiple times – family man, mariner and patriot. Beyond his family and home and garden projects, Ted was a true seaman at heart. His vessel, the Sandra Dee, sat as the central hub for innumerable family memories. As captain of that ship, Ted introduced sons, daughters-in- law, grandchildren and countless friends to the wonder and scope of the world's oceans.
He was born on November 21, 1934 in Washington D.C. to parents Oscar T. and Susan I. Anderson. He met the love of his life, Sara, at age 12, whom he married after high school. Ted built his legacy at Hewlett Packard, the CIA and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. His family was his most important asset, and to them he suggests that they remember to, "Always try to do your best."
Services for Theodore C. Anderson will be held Saturday, June 11th at 10:30 a.m. at Alameda Family Funeral Home, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd., Saratoga CA. 95070.
