Obituary

Thiena, gifted to the world on October 28, 1977 in Da Nang City, Vietnam by her parents Ngoc Lan Thi Pham (Mother) and Trong Hieu Dao (Father).

Thiena's journey took her from Vietnam to the United States where she studied at Gonzaga (go Zags).  Thiena worked hard, excelling academically while studying in a second language.  After graduation, Thiena found herself immersed in the technology industry, first at Homestead and then at Google.

Thiena was full of life, her smile was electric and it filled the room not only with her beauty but was always accompanied with her wit and insight.  She was usually brutally honest and her commentary and delivery could unexpectedly fill a room with laughter.  Thiena established herself as an iconoclast, not just in terms of her sense of fashion compared to the drab standard of the Valley, but also in her willingness to challenge the status quo, facilitated by her skills in the art of saying "no". Thiena always advocated for what was right and personified what a strong woman could be.

Never one to shy away from challenges, Thiena completed her MBA from The Wharton School, where she met the best and the brightest.  She cherished the experience of learning from the amazing faculty and being supported by the amazing colleagues in her MBA cohort.

Thiena was, is, and will be loved by so many.  She was always willing to mentor people, sharing the gift of her sympathetic ear, and helping others navigate the complex, the challenging, and the unknown.

Thiena is survived by her parents, her grandmother Chuong Thi Phung, sister Truc Dao and her husband Bang Truong, life partner Ken Motoyama, his daughter Ceira Motoyama and the broader Dao/Truong and Motoyama/Rodriguez families. While we will all miss her, may her soul and the souls of all faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  We will keep you in our hearts and minds forever.
