Thomas Dunphy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born in Akron, Ohio, to William and Natalie Dunphy. He spent his early childhood in Lincoln, Nebraska, during World War II, before returning to Akron, where he graduated from St. Vincent High School and then attended University of Akron.

Thomas moved to the Santa Clara Valley in 1965, where he established a life that he cherished for 52 years. He worked as a manufacturer's sales representative for over four decades, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was the proud father of Eric Dunphy and Debbie Tarbox, and adored his daughter-in-law, Ann-Marie, and son-in-law, Rob. He took great pride in being a grandfather to Michael, Olivia, and Natalie, and was deeply passionate about their education and watching them grow.

For 58 years, Thomas was devoted to his loving wife, Mary Jane. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and memories, many of which were made sitting under the walnut tree in their backyard, a spot Thomas particularly cherished.

In addition to his family, Thomas had a deep love for jazz music, often listening by candlelight. His passion for Notre Dame football was unmatched, and he loved traveling, especially by train through Canada and to the Mendocino Coast in California. One of his most cherished trips was to Ireland, where he visited the land of his heritage.

Thomas was one of five siblings: the late Patrick (Nancy) and Daniel. He is survived by his brother, Michael (Diane), and sister, Margret (Larry). He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Alex (Kathy), and Pat (Brenda). His nieces (Mary Kay, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Caroline) and nephews (AJ, Brad, Brian, Bill) will miss his warmth and laughter.

At Thomas' request, a private Mass of Catholic Burial was held, attended by close family.
