Obituary

Vijayasri Panuganti was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend, who could best be described as vibrant, resilient, faithful, and endlessly caring. She was born and raised in Phirangipuram, AP, India, to Sesha Ratnam and Anantha Koteswararao Chegu, before marrying Rao Panuganti and moving to San Jose, California, completing an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at San Jose State University while also raising her first child, Bharat Panuganti. An incredibly diligent and focused individual, Vijayasri re-trained as a software engineer, now having two children (Bharat and Bhavya Panuganti), and led a long and successful career in management. Vijayasri was always the "life of the party", infusing cheer and togetherness in every occasion; her magnetic personality attracted an extensive social network of adoring friends who universally looked to her both as a devoted friend and role model. She enjoyed traveling, twice going to the Himalayas after extensive training to climb Mt. Kailash, Hindu devotional activities, singing, cooking amazing Indian cuisine, and spending time with her admiring family and friends.

She is survived by Sesha Ratnam Chegu (mother), Rao Panuganti (husband), Bharat Panuganti (son) and Pooja Patel (daughter-in-law), Bhavya (daughter) and Heeran Thyalan (son-in-law), three grandchildren (Maya, Gia, and Dev Panuganti), Naga Venkateswara Rao Chegu (brother), Pushpalatha Kothuru (sister), and Sudha Rani Panuganti (sister).

The immense outpouring of love, support, and intense hopefulness during her recent, unfortunate medical issues is the perfect reflection of her integrity, character, and unbelievable kindness. She will be incredibly missed and perpetually loved.
