Violeta had a Materials Engineering degree from UCLA and MBA from Santa Clara
University. She worked at IBM, Intel, Pratt & Whitney, Juniper Networks,
Dell, and Pluribus Networks in engineering and management roles. In 2006, she was
awarded a scholarship by the Committee of 200 (C200) organization in recognition
of her work promoting women in business and her own entrepreneurship
potential.

Violeta did not let four separate battles with cancer control her life; instead she had
a passion for the outdoors and staying fit. She completed several marathons,
triathlons and half-marathons, and enjoyed hiking Bay Area trails. She was an
avid gourmet chef and impressed many with her cooking and range of culinary
knowledge. Violeta left a lasting impression on many with her infectious sense
of humor, positive outlook on life, and fierce loyalty to her
friends.
