Wes grew up in Clatskanie, OR, ultimately receiving a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering at Oregon State University in 1963, and starting work with Sylvania in Mtn. View, California.  He was a Field Engineer, working on various Dept. of Defense contracts across the U.S.  After their wedding in 1966, he and Judy continued their work travels, which included Chile, before finally settling in Cupertino, CA, in 1974.  His jobs included work on the Minuteman Missile Systems, Air Force's AN/USD-7 Multiband Electronic Reconnaissance System (used in RC-135B Aircraft).  Later, Wes worked in middle management for several engineering and communication companies.

While their two boys were growing up, he helped a lot with their sports and scouting activities.  In Nov. 1996, he had a quadruple bypass operation, and then started an active exercise/hiking regimen.  He participated in 3 expeditions to climb Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the continental U.S.  He retired in July, 2004, after being Dept. Mgr. of Engineering & Operations at Pulnix Corp.  He continued with a busy retirement life, involving management of timber property in his hometown of Clatskanie,  along with many hobbies: volunteer mentoring with Lynbrook H. S. Robotics, woodturning, helping the NW Y Service Club at Cupertino's YMCA, and studying the stock market. Beloved Wes was a wonderful/outstanding husband, father and friend...deeply loved and admired by many. Wes passed away on 2/14/2018 (from B cell Lymphoma) at El Camino Hospital (Mtn. View, CA).
