Resident of Saratoga

It is with great sadness that our beloved Bill Church passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 14, 2022, at age 72.

Bill was born in Ogden, Utah to Carroll and Peggy Church. His family moved to San Jose, CA in 1951, where he graduated from Branham HS in 1969, attended West Valley College AA in Art. Bill worked at the USPS as a Collector & Maintenance for 42yrs. Here he met many life-long friends.

On June 16, 1985, Bill married Maggie Hagmann at St Martin of Tours.  Bill enjoyed being active in his children's activities: coaching Little League, Softball at Sacred Heart, Mustang walk-a-thons, Indian Guides, Indian Princesses, Tech Challenge.

After retiring in 2012, Bill volunteered at Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad as Chief Engineer and was a Board Member. It was here he found his passion, tinkering at the railroad just like his grandfather.  He also learned to flyfish and belonged to Flycaster's of SJ. Despite receiving a lung transplant in 2015, Bill lived his life and visited many Nat'l Parks in his RV.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Maggie Church of 37yrs. His children Heather (Chad) Barber, Michael Church & Jenna Church, grandchild Christopher Church. Uncle Rod (Shirley) Church, Marsha (Paul) Sicard, Joe (Rena) Pellerin, & numerous cousins.

A service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 13716 Saratoga Ave at 10:00am on Wednesday December 7 ^th , followed by inurnment at Madronia Cemetery, 14766 Oak St, Saratoga with a celebration afterwards at Sacred Heart Parish Center.
