Obituary of Francis Kai

Francis Yee Tat Kai, age (68), passed away peacefully at (Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital) in San Jose, California. He was born April 24, 1956, in Hong Kong, to Francis Chit Ca and Theresa Show Ying Wong. Francis was baptized by Father Jerome Deblauwe, C.I.C.M., on December 23, 1966, at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Singapore. He was a graduate of La Salle Primary School (1968) and Pui Ching Middle School (1974) in Hong Kong, National Taiwan University (B. S. in 1978) in Taipei, SUNY at Buffalo (M.S. in 1980 and Ph.D. in 1983) in Buffalo, New York. He married Martha Lih-Nah Hwang at Ecclesiae Sanctae Crucis in Ping-tung, Taiwan by Father Antonio Dominguez, O.P., in June, 1980. Francis started his career as an Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Northeastern University in Boston. He later worked at Compaq Computer Corporation in Houston and Intel Corporation in Santa Clara, California. He published GaAs High Speed Devices, for Wiley-In
terscience, in 1994, and Catastrophe Theology, by Westbow Press, in 2017. He is survived by his son, Benoit Kai.
